Biography:

“Ann Annie” is the moniker for Oregon based composer, Eli Goldberg. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Ann Annie spent much of his youth listening to, and learning various film scores on a small electric piano. His favorites being works from composers such as Joe Hisaishi, Koji Kondo, as well as classical composers such as Elgar, and Debussy. Eventually Goldberg translated his piano melodies into soundscapes and ambient pieces, using as little computer involvement as possible. Ann Annie emerged at first as a mostly modular synth and tape based ambient artist. Following his first few releases, Eli began incorporating elements of real instrumentation and recording. His recent LP, “By Morning”, utilizes commonly seen instruments in the country and folk scene. Most recently, Ann Annie has been recording and and performing with String and Wind sections, re-connecting with his classical orientated routes. Goldberg has slowly been working his way into recording and production studio work as well. Producing / Mixing and Mastering Amos Heart’s “Company” & Bryan Ferry Idaho Handsom’s “ A Unified Alien Theorem”. Current projects include many Portland and PNW based folk / singer-songwriters. Annie is currently recording his 4th LP, and is set to release the first sing from the project “Three Chords” - July 7th on Nettwerk Records.
